In 2024, Rae Mae and Ethan met on everybody’s favorite place, Hinge. They chatted back and forth a few times and after a couple of attempts, he managed to convince Rae Mae to go on a date.
They quickly learned how well they work together. And decided immediately to spend lots of time together, laughing and getting to know one another better. Inevitability, they fell madly in love.
They visited each other’s hometowns. Ethan found out that life moves a bit slower in the south and Kentucky is in fact full of green, rolling hills instead of flat, barren land as he previously thought. Rae Mae got to experience the beauty and diversity of Washington’s landscape and she decided that Portland isn’t actually that scary. Both trips were full of pleasant memories and getting to meet their future in-laws.
After spending a year enjoying each other’s company and solidifying their relationship, they decided to take an incredible trip to Europe. They spent time in London, Paris, and Northern Italy. Ethan nervously carried Rae Mae’s engagement ring around all day in Paris before deciding to propose to her that evening in their cozy, picturesque apartment overlooking the city. They got tattoos together, shared incredible food, and got to visit the beautiful, highly anticipated Lake Como.
Since their engagement, they have spent time loving and supporting one another in Boise, growing as followers of Christ, and making deeper friendships with others along the way. They are so excited to celebrate their love with their favorite people.
